About The Company

When Pat and Bob Burnley invited their neighbors and friends to celebrate food and family fun in their backyard in 1954, they began a tradition of serving up memorable experiences for all to share. Three generations and 70 years later, that tradition of hospitality and spreading happiness holds true; only now the backyard is a growing village of unique shops, eateries, a working canning kitchen, and lodging rooms nestled next to rolling Lancaster farmlands.

Opportunity Overview

Join us for a morning of interactive learning. Two programs to choose from. These events are designed for students 14-18 years old. Please contact us for available dates.

Event options are:

1.) Behind the Scenes of Hospitality
Join us to get a “Behind the Scenes” look into the world of hospitality. This experience will begin with a brief chat about the history and culture of the Village. The students will then have the opportunity to learn about and participate in experiential activities relating to human resources, marketing, accounting, and maintenance industries. To end the experience, students will receive a guided tour of the Village. -Complimentary

2.) Serving Up Hospitality
Join us for a hands-on lesson about the culinary and events areas of Kitchen Kettle, with an emphasis on building relationships. Following a tour of the Village, including its history, your students will be able to explore various careers in hospitality. After the morning presentation and activities, the students will have the unique experience of using what they learned to serve each other lunch under the guidance of our events team. -$10 per student

*Please note that lunch is an interactive activity in the “Serving Up Hospitality” job shadowing opportunity and is at a cost of $10 per student.
*Space is limited for these opportunities, and registration is required.
*The registration deadline for an event is two weeks before the specific event date. If applicable, our group sales team will provide you with an invoice for your event, and payment is required at least three days before the scheduled event date.
