  • About The Company

The Pennsylvania Furniture Mission (PFM) is a nonprofit organization committed to fostering warm and welcoming homes for individuals and families encountering economic challenges or transitioning out of homelessness in South Central Pennsylvania. Our core mission is to provide stability and inspire optimism in those embarking on new beginnings through our home furnishing program. Over 50% of our program participants self-report being previously homeless, while others face intergenerational poverty, are survivors of domestic violence, or are overcoming challenges such as addiction and mental health issues.

Our mission reaches the corners of Lancaster, Lebanon, Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, and York counties. We work alongside nonprofits, healthcare, educational, and faith-based partners who refer their clients to us for assistance. These individuals, and their case managers or other supports, are welcomed into our showroom to select from a comprehensive array of furniture including beds, sofas, armchairs, dining tables and chairs, dressers, occasional tables, lamps, and more. We take a holistic approach to household stability, recognizing the interconnectedness of housing, furnishings, and health. Concurrently, we strive to generate employment opportunities with equitable wages for team members facing barriers to employment while breathing new life into gently used furniture items, promoting sustainability and community empowerment.
