    Upohar is a “social impact” catering business specializing in multicultural menus, featuring authentic ethnic foods from different parts of the world.

    What We Do

    We cater large events, such as weddings, corporate events, and galas. Meaning “gift” in Bengali, Upohar offers the gift of global cuisine to our customers, and the gift of business opportunity to our supply chain vendors. The food we serve is prepared by local chef-owned micro food businesses that specialize in their culinary traditions.

    We believe our catering clients deserve a flexible and attentive team – after all, big events like weddings, anniversaries, and fundraising galas are incredibly special days. We believe that clients and guests should experience delicious food and impeccable service no matter what else might be going on behind the scenes.

    Opportunity Overview

    Upohar offers part-time and summer employment to qualified applicants 16 years or older. We provide paid training. Most of our events are on weekends, which works out well for students.

    Our catering team is made up of a diverse group of people who are dedicated to executing flawless events for our clients. We come to the table with curiosity and leave our clients feeling well taken care of.

    Participate as a staff member at our catering events, and learn what goes into executing large events, such as weddings and galas. From managing details, to working as a team, to problem-solving on the spot and adapting to unforeseen situations, you’ll develop these transferrable skills that will serve you well in any career.

    How it works:

    • Once you’re on our staff list, we will contact you about our upcoming events.
    • If you are available and interested in working an event, you let us know.
    • We provide all the details, so you know the nature of the event, dress code, event duration, etc.
    • On the event date, you arrive at the specified time and join the crew to execute an amazing event!
